Originally recorded during sessions for SUSS’s High Line album, noted by Pitchfork for “sounding less like a vacation than a dinner bell for the apocalypse,” these two tracks were not included on the final album, but are too good not to see the light of day. “We Pointed Them North” features the band’s signature ambient Americana of pedal steel, ebow, guitar and psychedelic loops - guiding listeners on the trail that connects Ry Cooder’s Paris, Texas to Eno’s Another Green World. “Wetlands (Part 2)” brings together soaring EBow, pedal steel, mandolin, guitars and cosmic loops to create a new sonic landscape that lies somewhere between Bruce Langhorne’s The Hired Hand and Robert Fripp’s Evening Star.
